DIVA STYLES PROJECT: JUST BEING ME

About the Project

Just Being Me: Hong Kong's youth encounter vibrant opportunities alongside significant challenges. Persistent peer pressure and strong societal expectations often stand in the way of personal success. Finding the right balance between academic demands and genuine self-acceptance is especially difficult in a largely conformist environment. Their journey toward self-love calls for embracing individual uniqueness while navigating pressures to conform. Fashion and social media frequently amplify peer influence and heighten comparison. To confront these issues, young people should build greater resilience by recognising and celebrating their strengths, resisting unhealthy external pressures, and fostering supportive communities around them. By redefining success to prioritise self-appreciation and mental wellbeing, they can cultivate a healthier blend of ambition and self-compassion.
